Kids On Ice®

The Kids On Ice® (KOI) program, provides figure skating, hockey and speed skating lessons to children 5-18. This program is unique in that all three types of skating are Olympic sports, it offers programming to both boys and girls, and parents can choose from either a team sport or an individual sport.

Terri Ann Lowenthal  served as Skating Director at Fort Dupont Ice Arena from December 2001 – June 2007, helping to organize, manage, and expand FDIA’s signature Kids On Ice (KOI) program. This scholarship will help skaters who may not otherwise be able to participate in summer programming.

Israel Exchange Program

The Israeli-American Ice Partnership:  A handful of outstanding kids, who have earned the opportunity, will participate in our 3rd Annual Israel Experience Trip.  They will tour historic sights and learn about the importance of this area in world history, then attend hockey camp at our sister rink in Metula.  Our kids will develop long-lasting friendships with their Jewish, Arab, Christian, Muslim and druze counterparts throughout this 10-day excursion.

Equipment Donations

Most of the equipment our skaters use have been donated by other skaters in the area. We are always in need of gently used, mid/intermediate level figure, hockey and speed skating equipment in good condition. No hockey jerseys, please.

To donate equipment drop it off at Fort Dupont Ice Arena at your convenience. To arrange a pickup of large quantities of equipment, email us at programming@fdia.org.
